About C.A.Davidson, Author of Epic Stories for Character Education
The purpose of this book is to reclaim the Judeo-Christian cultural heritage for the rising generation, one dinner talk at a time.
Parenting Made Simple
Eating dinner everyday with your family is simple. It works, because it’s something everyone can do, and the rewards are worth it. According to the Center for Addictions and Substance Abuse,
Children who eat dinner with their families
- Abuse drugs less
- Are Healthier
- Do better in school
Dinner Talk is a way of life, to build character and faith in our families day to day, generation to generation. Dinner talk is: history, a treasury of epic stories, connecting families with their heritage of liberty; parables, teaching character education without preaching; current events, showing the consequences of right and wrong choices.
The book provides 65 epic stories. For additional daily dinner topics, and weekly bonus topics, read the American Culture Dinner Talk Journal , which provides:
- Fresh dinner topics every business day
- Current events in a Judeo-Christian worldview
- Educational, inspirational content
In response to September 11 of 2001, Christine A. Davidson created a Web site, www.epicworld.net, to promote family unity by reviving the tradition of dinnertime conversation, or “Dinner Talk”. She offers online dinner talk and character education resources, drawing from the classics, the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other epic literature. A recent addition is a blog at http://epicworld.net/blog Parents can visit this blog to contact author, offer comments and feedback, as well as enjoy book reviews, “great quotes every day,” gift gallery, featured articles, and short stories about epic heroes from American, ancient, and scriptural history.
Ms. Davidson filled a teaching appointment in Buenos Aires, Argentina 1969-71. Fluent in Spanish, she has traveled and studied symbolism and history in Mexico and in Central America. She home-schooled her four children during 1984-1994 and taught gospel scripture study in her home to small groups of youth. In 1988, she began writing fiction to awaken the rising generation, now including her grandchildren, to their Judeo-Christian heritage. Having finished her first novel, Remnant, she is writing a series of novels based on Book of Mormon stories. In 2000, she wrote “Brothers Brave,” a musical production about Book of Mormon (pre-Mayan and indigenous American) history in Latin America. The production offers a spiritual experience to people of all ages.
